On Friday 31st May 2019 our branch in High Wycombe hosted an Iftar Celebration to raise money for the “Yemen Crisis Appeal” through Save The Children. The celebration was a resounding success with over 200 people attending during the hours of 8.30pm and 11.00pm, the people who attended many of whom were from different religious backgrounds and belief systems included carers, Service Users and their relatives, social workers and also members of the general public.
In addition to the guests there were also special appearances from the Mayor of High Wycombe Mayor Maz Hussain who commented how delighted he was with the organisation and the high attendance for the event and representations from the local TV news who spoke to several guests on the evening.
All guests were served a three course meal following sunset prepared by our team at the branch who were also in charge of making all the decorations that added to the celebratory atmosphere.
The event has been very well received in the local area with many local residents still talking about the evening with many so amazed at how well the event was organised and how Mayfair Homecare were able to bring the community together as well as the event being such an amazing fund raising effort.
The total raised on the evening was an extraordinary £1250 with some donations still coming in meaning Wycombe will be making a very significant contribution to the “Yemen Crisis Appeal.”
Mayfair Homecare would also like to thank Naina and her team for all their hard work and for holding such an extraordinary and successful event.
